The CATS Aquatic Team (CATS) is searching for a full-time senior coach. The candidate would be responsible for the senior program, which includes approximately 100+ swimmers ages 13 – 18. CATS is a nonprofit organization managed by a volunteer board of directors who work with the head coach on the business side, whereas the Head Coach with assistance of the full coaches are responsible for the day-to-day direction of all aspects of the swim program. This requires regular and effective communication with coaches, swimmers, parents, and Board members. The CATS Aquatic Team utilizes the aquatic facilities at the Vernon Hills High School (8 lane 25 yard or meter pool) and Libertyville High School (6 lane 25 yard pool). The Head Senior Coach’s duties include: (1) development of long term goals and swim programs for our competitive swimmers at all levels, (2) overseeing the growth and management of the assistant coaches, (3) developing the seasonal SCY and LCM meet schedule, with shared responsibility for coaching at meets, (4) developing the swim calendar, newsletters, email communications, web site content, and working within the team budget, (5) working cooperatively with the Board members, and (6) working cooperatively with High School District 128 regarding use of the pool facilities. Required experience: (1) Member in good standing with USA Swimming, current on all safety requirements and background checks (CPR, First Aid and Coaches Safety Training, Red Cross Lifeguard certification), (2) Preferred ASCA certified Level 3 or higher, (3) Coaching experience in a leadership role involving recruiting and training, (4) Computer skills, with experience with web-site management and Hy-Tek Swimming Management Software. Experience with TeamUnify software is a plus. CATS offer a competitive package of base salary including a health benefits stipend and bonus incentives. We are currently accepting resumes.
