The night before his 200-meter breaststroke final at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming, Scott Spann, Jr., took a different path to his race preparation. He made a conscience decision after finishing third in the 100 that he wouldn't approach his next and last opportunity to make the Olympic team with the same nervous energy and attitude.
